Avery CD/DVD Label Applicator July 12, 2010 A. Davis (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Avery CD/DVD Label Applicator ( 5699 ) Label alignment is still tricky, even with this device. Labels will not lie flat in this device with the adhesive side facing up. You have to improvise to some extent.
Simple, Inexpensive, and It Works May 12, 2010 Daniel G. Lebryk This is a good solid meaty CD/DVD label applicator. The quilted rubber non-slip base sits solid on the desktop. There are two settings for the center of the label - if you are applying full coverage labels, the wider ring can be locked down. If you are applying partial coverage labels (the kind where the clear center of the CD or DVD is still visible), simply twist to unlock the bigger ring and you are good to go. This label applicator is nearly perfectly centers my full coverage labels. I use Memorex labels, and that small center pin is exactly the diameter of the CD/DVD hole and label hole. All the other label applicators I've used have some slop in the pin and don't perfectly center the label (this is a really bad thing for full coverage DVD labels - it will overheat your DVD player and end up pixellating movies). The raised ridge around the base is kind of nice. There really aren't pins that hold down the label. The ridge is there to just help guide you to placing the label on the base. I really like this simple applicator. I hate to say it, but I've applied maybe five thousand labels with many other devices. This one is by far the best I've run across. By the way, the box my applicator came in was a very generic white box with absolutely no graphics. There are also no instructions. Not sure instructions are necessary as this is pretty self evident on how to use the thing.
It's a good idea... But doesn't do its job well. April 27, 2010 S. C. Swei I was really excited for this applicator because I'm a huge perfectionist, therefore it makes sense that I would want to label my disks perfectly. It arrived today and I didn't hesitate to begin labeling. I'm using Avery full face labels and though it's easy to use the applicator, it doesn't center them very well. As a matter of fact, it does as well as I do when I just eyeball it. So, I'm really disappointed but I'm keeping this anyway. I figure it'll be more handy with non-full face labels.
A "must-have" if you burn DVDs or CDs and need labels March 11, 2010 David E. Carter (Sanibel, FL) I had a project to make 80 DVDs and I wisely purchased this product. It works perfectly, and I can't imagine trying to apply labels to a DVD or CD without this product. Perfect alignment every time, with no wrinkles.
Just as I ordered. February 11, 2010 William E. Boots 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The product was just as I wanted, however, I was charged shipping charges when the entry for the item to be bought said "Free Shipping". Not so. Shipping charges were charged when I checked out.
